Havasu Hikes is committed to safely guiding your desert exploration of these scenic experiences with moments of mindfulness. No permits are needed, only ample water and a desire for desert immersion. 

Leashed dogs allowed on Wanderlust and Pilot Rock; harnessed dogs allowed on Slot Canyon and Slot Canyon to Shore.

This beginner’s trail meanders through fun rock formations to reveal a stunning view of one of SARA Park’s most beautiful mountains.

Slot Canyon

(aka SARA’s Crack)

Moderate / 3.5 miles / 2.5 hours / 1 liter (33 oz) of water required per person / $35 per person / $25 ages 10-15 / Free 9 and younger/ Dogs require a harness to safely navigate the canyon

Enjoy the most popular hike at SARA Park and marvel at the red rock formations of the Slot Canyon and the mystery of what is around the corner. This hike includes using a rope for descension and ascension of an 10-foot dry waterfall along with a few other fun obstacles to emerge from the canyon and catch a glimpse of Arch Rock. This hike offers an Enjoy the Moment option for those who wish to relax and prefer to not navigate the Canyon.

Slot Canyon to Shore

Moderately strenuous / 5 miles / 4.5 hours / 2 liters (67 oz) of water required per person / $45 per person / $35 ages 10-15 /. Dogs require a harness to safely navigate the canyon

Once you emerge from the Slot Canyon, you can proceed to strengthen your body and marvel at the desert landscape by continuing to walk along the wash until the gorgeous rock formations once again rise along a playful trail that opens to the epic blue waters of Lake Havasu.

Pilot Rock

This less-traveled trail guides through delightful rock formations to on a trail that is key to unlocking one of SARA Park’s best kept secrets: Pilot Rock.

Immerse yourself in the intrigue of this ancient terrain and Lake Havasu. You’ll enjoy the stories it has to tell of how it came to supply 20 million people with water, feature the London Bridge and create the gorgeous, chill lake-desert resort destination of Lake Havasu City along the Colorado River. The Special Activity Recreation Area (SARA) Park is 1,100 acres of hiking and mountain biking trails. To clarify, the Lake Havasu region is about two hours south of the Grand Canyon in Western Arizona, and it does not feature the epic hike to Havasupai Falls, which is located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
